The American brand of audio products is preparing to launch on its speakers an alternative home voice assistant to those of Google and Amazon.
After “OK Google”, “Say Siri”, or even “Alexa”, place the new voice command “Hey Sonos”. It is the one that will have to be stated to awaken the new voice assistant that the American manufacturer Sonos is about to activate on its multiroom wireless connected speakers. At least those compatible with its S2 software and having a microphone. According to The Verge, the launch would be scheduled for June 1, starting with the United States. The date of international deployment is not yet known.
This new assistant known as Sonos Voice Control will not mark the end of the current support for Google Assistant and Amazon’s Alexa on the brand’s compatible devices, but will act as an alternative. It will allow you to play and control the music broadcast on Sonos devices from different streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora and of course Sonos Radio. On the other hand, Spotify and YouTube Music will not be part of the launch of the service, reports the specialized site. It says the voice command feature will not record user audio commands and send them to the cloud, out of concern for privacy.
Sonos could say more in a few days during a presentation during which the company should lift the veil on a new sound bar at an affordable price (we are talking about 250 dollars) which would be called Sonos Ray.
