Jane Horvath (center) at CES 2020
As a reminder, Jane Horvath joined Apple in 2011 as Senior Director of Global Privacy
and now claims the wholesale title of Chief Privacy Officer
. But she wants to be a real leader in the field with more than twenty years of experience in data protection. She actually held the position of Global Privacy Counsel
at Google and Chief Privacy Counsel and Civil Liberties Officer
at the United States Department of Justice.
Her role is still uncertain, she could be a simple speaker or have a more active role in leading debates. One thing is certain, she will be brought to defend Apple’s position towards the Digital Market Act. During previous editions, several Apple executives – such as Tim Cook and Craig Federighi – had intervened, in particular the sideloading.
