Auction: A working Apple-I with a serial number written by Steve Jobs (from $250,000)

Regularly, the first computers from Apple are found at auction at more or less extravagant prices. So the Apple-Is are pretty much on the sidelines, their value having increased dramatically over the past few decades, with some machines selling for more than $700,000 at auction. For those interested, an early Apple-I (with its serial number handwritten by Steve Jobs) is on sale for a starting price of $270,000.

This bundle includes the original monitor, a Datanetics keyboard, an Apple cassette adapter, a power supply, cables and a reproduction of the original manual signed by Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne with the inscription Think Different!. Note that this is not one of the six models in the world with a koa wood case (the last one sold half a million last November).

The specificity of this product perfectly functional is to wear a handwritten serial number by Steve Jobs (apparently authentic). Auction house Goldin claims that this machine was verified by former Apple employee Daniel Kottke (one of the first to work on the Apple-1). Priced at a quarter of a million dollars, it benefits from two auctions, the last being at 324,000 dollars!
