In addition to his desire to restore freedom of expression by ending censorship, Elon Musk also wants to multiply by ten the number of monthly users of the platform and reach a turnover of 26.4 billion dollars by 2028… when it is currently $5 billion. The billionaire has revealed the main lines of his financial strategy and is counting on the diversification of the current economic model, which is mainly based on advertising revenue.

More specifically, according to documents collected by the New York Times, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla hopes to grow the number of monthly Twitter users from 217 million at the end of 2021 to 600 million in 2025 and 931 million in 2028. Elon Musk also wants to introduce paid subscription services, since counts on 104 million paid subscribers by 2028. With all these measures, the new owner of Twitter believes the company can reach annual revenue of US$26.4 billion by 2028. In particular, Elon Musk wants to develop Twitter Blue, the only subscription currently offered by Twitter at three euros per month, by increasing the number of its users to 69 million by 2025 and 159 million by 2028.
