Google I/O: what to remember from the 2022 conference

Initially intended for developers, the Google I/O has gradually grown to become today a more global event, allowing the brand to present its new products. This year, the conference took place on May 11-12, 2022 in Shoreline, USA.

New features on the hardware and software side

A few days before the conference, rumors swirled and the program for the event quickly took shape. The Google I/O has thus made it possible to unveil new products such as the long-awaited and very leaked Pixel Watch, as well as the new Pixel 6A smartphone. Google also teased its Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, scheduled for fall. The Mountain View company also took advantage of the event to (slightly) lift the veil on its next Galaxy Buds Pro.

On the software side, Sundar Pichai has indeed announced a beta 2 of Android 13, downloadable directly in the wake of the opening keynote of the conference, not only on Pixels, but also on a selection of smartphones from third-party brands. A version of the operating system for folding smartphones, Android 12 L, has also been mentioned.
