For 2023, the Legacy arrives with a new front end that consists of new LED headlights and fog lights, along with a larger grille and new bumper design. The Legacy thus looks more like the Ascent and the Forester, two vehicles preferred by Subaru buyers.

Inside, the available infotainment system gains a larger screen that allows it to incorporate the controls of the automatic climate control system to give a sleeker design to the center console. This 11.6-inch screen also comes standard with wireless Apple Car Play and Android Auto integration and new for this year, both of these features can now run full screen and take advantage of all the available space on the screen. ‘touchscreen. To improve comfort in winter, the new steering wheel is fully heated to provide a comfortable grip around its entire circumference.

Under the hood, the same 2.5-liter flat-four engine is standard with its 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque, and the 2.4-liter turbocharged boxer four-cylinder engine is still available with 260 horsepower and 277 lb-ft of torque. Both engines are paired with the Lineartronic CVT transmission and standard symmetrical all-wheel drive.

New for 2023, the Sport trim level gains the turbocharged engine to go along with its more dynamic appearance which includes a red accent on the grille, gray side mirrors and a small gray spoiler. Apart from the specific rims, the changes also include an exclusive gray and black interior with red stitching.

To improve the safety of the Legacy, the 2023 model comes with the latest version of the EyeSight driver assistance system which now offers a wider field of vision and faster response thanks to new software and the addition an electric brake booster.

Also new, some models can now avoid obstacles by performing automatic evasive steering maneuvers instead of relying solely on the brakes.

To further improve the system, the top-of-the-range Touring XT model now uses a single wide-angle camera instead of the two units used on other models, to allow EyeSight to detect pedestrians and cyclists earlier, leaving more time for the driver to react.

Pricing information hasn’t been released yet, but it’s expected to be released fairly soon, as the 2023 Legacy goes on sale later this year in North America.
