Arrest warrant has been issued in the United States for a female corrections officer who helped an inmate escape “extremely dangerous” announced on Monday May 2, 2022 the police, who have not yet established whether they acted under duress or not.
Casey White, a colossus of 2.06 m for 118 kg, escaped Friday from Lauderdale County Jail in Florence, Alabama (southern United States).
Already sentenced to 75 years in prison for a long series of offenses including invasion of residence, car theft with violence and hit-and-run, he also faced a charge of murder after admitting to killing a woman of 58 years old in 2015.

Under duress or on his own?
The 38-year-old detainee left prison at 9.41 a.m. under the supervision of a prison service official, Vicky White – despite being namesakes, the two are not related – who indicated that she would take him to court for a psychological evaluation before going to the doctor herself.
It wasn’t until around 3:30 p.m. that authorities realized neither had returned. Their vehicle was found empty in the parking lot of a shopping center.
“We know that she participated” to the escape, Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton said of Vicky White at a news conference. “Did she do it on her own or was she coerced by force or threat, […] we are not sure. »
An agent close to retirement
The 56-year-old veteran officer took Casey White alone, in violation of rules that require officers to transport inmates in pairs, Rick Singleton said. No evaluation for the prisoner was also scheduled that day in court.
Other elements also intrigue the investigators: the agent planned to retire and Friday was her last day in the prison administration. She had sold her house ” about a month ago “, noted the sheriff.

If she voluntarily participated in the escape, “this is not the Vicky White we know”confided Rick Singleton, confirming that the hypothesis of a romantic relationship between the two protagonists was ” absolutely “ considered by the police. She is currently the subject of an arrest warrant for “permitting or facilitating an escape”.
Potentially dangerous individuals
The federal agency specializing in the search for fugitives, the United States Marshals Service (USMS), has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to Casey White’s capture.
Speaking to the audience at the press conference, Marty Keely of the USMS warned: Do not attempt to approach either of these individuals, we consider both of them to be dangerous. »
Before escaping, Casey White “had nothing to lose” added the sheriff. In Alabama, the inmate faces the death penalty if convicted of the murder he admitted to.
