Will the next Google I/O be an opportunity for its organizer to unveil a competitor to the AirPods Pro? It’s a guess. Jon Prosser this week evoked succinctly the upcoming arrival of Pixel Buds Pro. No more details apart from the names of colors supposedly intended to distinguish them: Real Red, Carbon, Limoncello and Fog.
To add a little fat to this rumor, it should be recalled that support for spatial audio and head movement tracking are on the menu of the next Android 13.
Above all, it lacks more premium and advanced headphones in Google’s current family. Its Pixel Buds were followed by Pixel Buds A-Serie rather positioned as competitors of the AirPods 2, with their price of only 99 €.

An accessory that only offers passive noise reduction. Google does not yet sell a solution with a real active discount. It is based on a software function which tries to adapt the audio reproduction – essentially by automatically adapting the volume – to the external context but without really eliminating the sound parasites.
The next Google I/O will be held next week, May 11-12.
